The University Centers of Excellence were built to leverage the ambulatory expertise of core faculty specialist of the UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program. The faculty specialist of UCSF Fresno treat patients with state of the art practice, teach the Valley’s next generation of doctors and engage in scholarly clinical research. The Centers of Excellence enhance recruitment of new specialists to the area and develop a critical mass of physicians, surgeons and specialists to create new research and clinical fellowships for the UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program. This synergistic effect is supported by studies showing that 30 – 50% of residents and 80% of fellows remain in the area where they receive their training and practice medicine.

Challenge

The challenge for this project was to create a website portal that included a new website presence as well as their Intranet. The other challenges were to create a navigation that would help the viewer navigate the website with all of the specialties, services and locations that this organization offers to its physicians and patients.

Solution

Digital Attic’s Foundation Content Management System with its new permission system allows them the ability to add navigational elements to the website and restrict access. This allowed our client to manage over 150 physicians, manage the information on the website as well as managing their Intranet.
